For over 20 years, MDUMC has gathered for One Great Day of Service (OGDOS) - a single-day service event that strengthened our community and our faith. This year, we are expanding that tradition with SERVE HTX, a refreshed and flexible opportunity to serve across three days.

 SERVE HTX WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Volunteer on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday to fit your schedule. Make a meaningful impact by collaborating with our trusted community partners. Build stronger connections as you serve alongside MDUMC members, family, and friends.

Friday, March 21

House Renovation Work Crew

Renovation of two homes in Houston’s Fourth Ward. Work includes exterior painting, fence repair, yard cleanup, landscaping, interior cleanup, and repairs.

Family Point Resources

Come hang out with the kids after school at FPR. All ages and kids are welcome. Activities include crafts, playing sports, and games.

Work in food pantry organizing and distribution to the public.

There will be abbreviated service times on both campuses to give us plenty of time to serve our neighbors!

Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing

Kids Meals Packing

  • Come-and-go from 10 AM - 12 PM

  • West Campus - The Refuge

Easter Egg Stuffing

  • Come-and-go from 9 - 11:30 AM

  • Main Campus - Wesley Hall

Children will also have special SERVE projects during Sunday school time

Can’t serve in person that weekend? You can still be a part of the movement!

Consider making an online financial contribution, purchasing items from our wish list, or dropping off the requested items at the MDUMC Main Campus.

  • Boxes of individually packaged chips

  • Individually wrapped cookies

  • Granola/protein bars
