Join us for Intermission! This is a new respite program from the Special Needs Ministry. On April 6th, children with special needs are invited to the Journey. They will enjoy games, fellowship and fun alongside the help of a caring volunteer! The event is from 9-11:30 AM. Please send a labeled drink/snack as food will not be provided due to allergies. A nurse will be on-site for this program.

Lighten Up Bible Study

Begins the week of January 22 (8 weeks)
Daytime option | Tuesdays from 12 - 1:30 PM | $70 for study and 8 lunches
Evening option | Mondays from 6:30-7:30 PM | $15 for study

Lighten Up invites all of the women in our community to be a part of our weekly group. Each Tuesday afternoon starts with a delicious lunch followed by a short video teaching and great small group time. Marriage enrichment seminar

Join us for a Marriage Enrichment Seminar featuring Rev. Leo Tyler and the transformative Birkman Method. This seminar aims to strengthen relationships, enhance communication, and deepen the bonds between couples. Through the Birkman Method’s personalized assessments and Rev. Leo Tyler’s expertise in interpersonal dynamics and conflict resolution, couples will gain valuable insights into their strengths, needs, and potential stress behaviors. This Marriage Enrichment Seminar holds the promise of transforming relationships and fostering personal growth. Cost: $150 per couple includes a continental breakfast, lunch, the Birkman assessment for two persons, and childcare if needed. Scholarships available. This seminar is sponsored in part by a grant from our Caring Forever Foundation.

Join us for a morning at the farm and be part of our partnership with FAM Houston to grow healthy food and build an empowered community. Shamba Ya Amani (“the Farm of Peace” in Swahili) is located in the Alief area. Members of this group and dedicated volunteers work together each Saturday to plant, maintain, and harvest community rows as well as individual family beds. We will be cooking and serving parts of the Thanksgiving Feast for Neighbors in Action. On Saturday, November 11th we will meet in the MDUMC Kitchen at 9:00am to cook the turkeys and stuffing. Then on Sunday, November 12th we will meet at the church at 2:00pm to deliver the food to Port Houston Elementary and help serve the Neighbors in Action Thanksgiving Feast to the community. Surviving the Holidays Luncheon

Join us for a Surviving the Holidays Luncheon. During this two- hour luncheon, led by MDUMC pastors and staff, you'll learn practical, actionable strategies for making it through the holiday season while dealing with grief; you'll meet other grieving people who understand what you're going through; and you'll be reminded that you are not alone. Your holiday season may not be easy, but you can choose to walk through this season in a way that honors your loved one and puts you on the path of health and healing.
