About Sunday School at MDUMC

We want your child to feel at home at MDUMC. We have Sunday School options on both campuses for all ages on Sunday mornings so that your child can learn about God's love on their level. Our main goal if to facilitate your child's growth and knowledge of God through activities and lessons that keep them engaged and having fun.

Register your child for our 2018-2019 Sunday School year here.

PreK Sunday School

Sundays  |  9:30-10:30 AM

Preschool Sunday School classes accept children who are 2, 3 and 4 years old as of the beginning of the school year- September 1st. Young children are welcome to also attend the church nursery before or after Sunday School.

Class activities include a short lesson, crafts, games, music and more. Like the older age levels, we use Cokesbury's "DEEP BLUE" curriculum. A snack is often served so please alert the teachers as to any allergies your child might have.

Children's sermons are included in most 11 AM Sanctuary services. Children of all ages are welcome to attend worship. We do have a "Wiggle Room" near the Sanctuary where you can watch the service on television if you feel your family might be more comfortable in that setting.
Children are checked in each Sunday via a computerized system.

Mission projects, Food Scavenger Hunt, and serving breakfast to the homeless. Rock climbing, skating, and laser quest are some of our fun activities! West Campus Sunday School - Journey Worship Center

On the West Campus we offer Sunday school for 2 year olds-5th graders at both the 9:30 and 11:00 hours. Our Sunday school classes offer a wide variety of activities. We utilize Cokesbury’s Deep Blue curriculum for our weekly lessons. Each of our classes learn the same base lesson but, in an age appropriate manner. This allows for families to leave church and discuss what they learned and how they learned it.

Anyone is welcome to attend Sunday school without prior registration. Come see us at our check in stations to register or sign in. Our repeat guests will use the last 4 digits of their phone number to sign their child(ren) in. This will print them a name-tag for them to proceed to their respective class.

We encourage families to utilize the materials that the children bring home. We provide resources that can be great conversation pieces to continue in the child’s faith formation.

We rely on volunteers to lead each class in their lesson. We provide the lesson and all materials that go along with it, but we need 2 adults per class each week. We have a sign up page that you can use to sign up to lead your child (or any other child’s!) class. Please contact our West Campus Children’s Director: Lauren Bedevian for further information on our volunteering options.
